Previous Macintosh operating systems were named using Arabic numerals, e.g. Mac OS 8 and Mac OS 9. The letter X in Mac OS X's name refers to the number 10, a Roman numeral. It is therefore correctly pronounced as the number 10 in this context , though pronouncing the letter "X" is a common mistake for users.

Mac OS X's core is a POSIX compliant operating system (OS) built on top of the XNU kernel, with standard Unix facilities available from the command line interface. Apple released this set of software as a free and open source operating system named Darwin. On top of Darwin, Apple layered a number of components, including the Aqua interface and the Finder, to complete the GUI-based operating system which is Mac OS X.Mac OS X introduced a number of new capabilities to provide a more stable and reliable platform than its predecessor, Mac OS 9. Many aspects of Mac OS X's architecture are derived from Openstep, which was designed to be portable—to ease the transition from one platform to another. Mac OS X includes its own software development tools, most prominently an integrated development environment called Xcode. Xcode provides interfaces to compilers that support several programming languages including C, C++, Objective-C, and Java. For the Apple Intel Transition, it was modified so that developers could build their applications as a universal binary, which provides compatibility with both the Intel-based and PowerPC-based Macintosh lines. One of the major differences between the previous versions of Mac OS and OS X was the addition of the Aqua GUI, a fluid graphical user interface with water-like elements. Furthermore, every window element, texts, graphics or widgets was drawn on-screen using the anti-aliasing technology. ColorSync, a technology introduced many years before, was improved and built into the core drawing engine, to provide color matching for printing and multimedia professionals. Also, drop shadows were added around windows and isolated text elements to provide a sense of depth. New interface elements were integrated, including sheets (document modal dialog boxes attached to specific windows) and drawers.

The human interface guidelines published by Apple for Mac OS X are followed by many applications, giving them consistent user interface and keyboard shortcuts. In addition, new services for applications were included, which included spelling and grammar checkers, special characters palette, color picker, font chooser and dictionary; these global features are present in every Cocoa application, adding consistency. The graphics system OpenGL composites windows onto the screen to allow hardware-accelerated drawing. This technology, introduced in version 10.2, is called Quartz Extreme, a component of Quartz. Quartz's internal imaging model correlates well with the Portable Document Format (PDF) imaging model, making it easy to output PDF to multiple devices. As a side result, PDF viewing is a built-in feature.

·Version 10.3 - Apple added Exposé, a feature which includes three functions to help accessibility between windows and desktop. Its functions are to instantly display all open windows as thumbnails for easy navigation to different tasks, display all open windows as thumbnails from the current application, and hide all windows to access the desktop. Also, FileVault was introduced, which is an optional encryption of the user's files with Advanced Encryption Standard (AES-128).

·Version 10.4 - include Automator, an application designed to create an automatic workflow for different tasks; Dashboard, a full-screen group of small applications called desktop widgets that can be called up and dismissed in one keystroke; and Front Row, a media viewer interface accessed by the Apple Remote. Moreover, the Sync Services were included, which is a system that allows applications to access a centralized extensible database for various elements of user data, including calendar and contact items. Those two are famous and commonly known. They are the largest software enterprise company. At this point, they would have a great cooperation in their partnership for having a time to combine their powers. But when we say Oracle Buying Sun its another issue anymore. Then again I know they had different skills, I know they can make great partnership and they had opportunity to create a new thing that will totally fame. Merging two great and commonly known company is a great pleasure to enhance more for enterprise and create mo trends in our industry.

What do you think would Bill Gates do about this? We know more about Bill Gates works, He had made more trends in our industry. We've encountered great things about the products release by Bill Gates. In this kind of situation, Bill Gates will encountered a merge company to compete them. They must not affect about those issue, they must focus or studied more interesting that they can present and can beat them. I know there are some circumstances that can affected from Bill Gates. But then again they must find more ways that cannot affect to their business and we dont know this could be the way to beat them.

To you as a student using Java, how will this later affect your learning on the language? For me, In our industry, there are always changing and I know when the days comes up there are always changes. Learning the language of Java is great and much better to know more and more about it so that I can master it. But when talking about this issue. It's not said that you as a student it will totally affected but there are only changes in this issue, but you can continue your study. Well, it depends if the Oracles works will be effect to all then again thats another story and there will be a very huge changes.

these are my answers about the topic: Oracles buys Sun.

OCZ Neural Impulse Actuator Gaming Headband

Players are complaining about their slow mouse and high pings time. Why don't you try the OCZ Nueral Impulse actuator Gaming Headband. This is the gaming headband that actually works off your brain waves. It delivers a satisfying gaming experience. This is basing on muscles action rather than brainwaves. To make it work, first,if you want to forward, you must have to give a it a little bit of motion like raising your eyebrows and keeping them raised. Or if you want more dramatic like jumping or firing, you must give it a more sudden action just like clench your jaw or blink hard. This is focusing on our brain action, not using the keyboards and mouse but only your mind. This is kinda difficult in first place but it is enjoy because your actually your the one who play on the screen. It's just like any other macro program. You can assign up to 3 events per brain spike, they can also be any keystroke or mouse click. Where others have to practice reaction times, you can use reflex-based game play to get the better of your opponents by cutting your reaction time by 50%.

The headband uses carbon nanofiber-based sensors to provide the highest possible dynamic range for the recording of bio electrical signals that are amplified and digitized and further de-convoluted into computer commands.

This is also cool because you can just sit and relax while playing video games. And you can even eat while playing. This technology was developed through muscle parts of the head and the brain. It’s like a step forward to 3d video game helmets. The one that you can see on TV. It is a neckband that translates thought into speech. The Audeo sensor is a highly integrated, extremely sensitive sensor of neurological activity. It noninvasively detects electrical activity at the surface of the skin. The Audeo actively processes this activity to make it a robust control signal. This control signal can then be connected to a speech engine in various ways to give back to a person, the ability to communicate. By interpreting and picking up nerve signals has been used to demonstrate a voiceless phone call. The name of this device is think n spell. Some scientists at Ambient Corporation are bent on improving their "Audeo" wireless neckband which taps into nerve signals being sent to the vocal chords and vocalizes those "thoughts" for you. Users have to specifically think about voicing words for them to be picked up by the band, but it saves them from saying potentially sensitive things while on a cellphone in public. The device is also being aimed at those who have lost the ability to speak due to diseases. Currently the device can only recognize roughly 150 words and phrases, and has a decent delay between "speaking" with your mind and the computer vocalizing the words for you though it still needs upgrade. This device can make the current communication technology take a step forward. This device can also be used for military purposes because of its stealth features the device can be used by the SWAT forces in America for surprise tactics instead of the hand sign ways.

This device was introduced by Michael Callahan in the USA. The process of this device is from the neurological transmissions or vibrations it transforms into audio then it encrypts the vibrations with the audio then it transmits it into the cpu of the device then it sends a signal to the phone or to another device and by that they can communicate with each other.

Mini Hot Printer

Is that a printer?....

One of the great things about camera phones is that you can take pictures almost anywhere you go. But to share them with others you usually have to pass around your phone. Or they end up trapped with all those other digital pictures on your computer – or someone else’s machine after you email them – and never leave the land of pixels to become a print.

But with Dell’s Wasabi PZ130 pocket-size printer you can quickly give your photo subjects and friends something more tangible in the form of a physical picture.
The 7-ounce Wasabi measures just 4.8 x 2.8 x 0.9 inches and produces 2-x-3-inch borderless color prints in under a minute. Plus, the paper comes with a sticky backing so that the photos can be used as stickers for things like scrapbooking and tagging bags and belongings.

The Wasabi printer works with Bluetooth phones so that you can wirelessly print pictures, and it also has a PictBridge connector for printing directly from compatible digital cameras.
